Cedar Group in Singapore.
Cedar Advisory Pte. Ltd. is our Singapore-incorporated firm. Based in Singapore and serving the Asia-Pacific region, it works with families and businesses whose lives and interests span Canada and Asia.
Four situations. One firm on both ends.
Cedar Group has advised Canadian business owners and families on complex tax, legal and valuation matters since 2020. Our Singapore office brings that practice to the Asia-Pacific region, for the situations where Canada and Asia meet.
Canadians moving to Asia-Pacific, and people moving to Canada
Relocation planning in both directions. Residency, what happens to companies, investments and property when you move, and the Canadian filings that continue afterward.
Families and family offices with members in Canada
Parents in Asia with children or grandchildren in Canada. Succession and estate planning that holds in both places, gifts and inheritances that cross borders, and the Canadian reporting that comes with them. We work alongside your family office and its Singapore providers.
Businesses expanding across the Pacific
Canadian private companies using Singapore as their gateway to Asia-Pacific, and Asia-Pacific businesses investing into Canada. Structure, repatriation, treaties, and the Canadian legal implementation.
Advisers with Canadian-connected clients
Private bankers, immigration lawyers, accountants and trust companies whose clients need a Canadian answer. We are the Canadian end of your client's team, not a competitor for the relationship.
Many of these families include US citizens, US property or US filing obligations. Cedar Group's US tax principals handle the American side alongside the Canadian one.
We advise, design and coordinate. Trustees, lawyers, corporate secretaries and banks in Singapore remain with licensed Singapore providers, and we work alongside them. We do not act as a trustee, manage investments, or prepare Singapore tax filings.
Every engagement starts with a written assessment.
In Phase I we learn your situation, research the technical questions on both sides of the Pacific, and give you a written strategy with the costs and benefits in dollars, before anything is implemented. In Phase II we implement the approved plan, scoped and quoted separately, with our Canadian team and your Singapore providers working from the same document.
Based in Singapore. Serving Asia-Pacific.
Canadian trade and investment into Southeast Asia routes through Singapore, and the region's families organise their affairs here. The families and businesses we already serve in Canada reach here too, through a parent, a subsidiary, or a child who moved.
Our Singapore office keeps the Asia-Pacific side of the conversation moving in Asian business hours, with the Canadian tax, US tax, legal and valuation practices in Canada one call away. The Canadian practice is fully staffed and unchanged. Singapore adds a second office, not a second firm.

Is this a Singapore firm or a Canadian firm?+
Both. Cedar Advisory Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore company, and it is part of Cedar Group, whose practices are based in Canada. You get one firm, working in both places.
Do you advise on Singapore tax?+
Our expertise is Canadian and US tax, and how each interacts with a life or a business in Asia-Pacific. For Singapore tax, legal and trust matters we work alongside licensed Singapore professionals and coordinate the whole picture.
Our family office already has advisers. Where do you fit?+
On the Canadian side of the table. Your Singapore providers keep doing what they do; we handle the Canadian tax, legal and reporting consequences for family members in Canada, and keep the two sets of advice consistent.
How do we start?+
